Infinity Ward requested multiplayer changes for mw3, Rust/shipment to return as faceoff maps

Possible Upcoming MW3 Multiplayer Updates

Infinity Ward put in some requests to their multiplayer design team, which can mean possible much-wanted updates to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Modern Warfare 3 players have been asking for various updates, changes, and additions to the game’s multiplayer and Infinity Ward is taking some of these into consideration. You might even see a return of a few old favorites as additions as Face-off maps.

Here’s what they’re suggesting (after the break):

Community Playlist Updates:

Desert eagles in One in the chamber and All or nothing
Change infected weapons
AoN & OIC separated from gun game
Add community playlist leaderboards (aon, infected, dropzone)

Weapons Complaints:

Guns like the M16, Model 1887, PM9, and the MP5 need more love.
Riot Shield: Does not have master and veteran challenges to carry over prestiges & The hit deflection for the shield, especially on the back.

Other:

Final Stand give the player putting the player in final stand the full kill? (if a teammate finished the second chance player off).
Remake shipment/rust for Face Off

    yea i would like to see some weapon balance changes not a major fan of shipment enjoy rust.. think it will be fun can be crazy 3v3 thought. do not want the final stand change thought enjoy it mw way and black ops way

    I don’t play community playlists to care other than infected should not have throwing knives. Weapon balance always needs work but the 1887 is powerful enough as it is. Riot shield has HUGE flaws. I can look directly at a guy while crouched and still get shot. Final stand definitely needs to be fixed, I hate doing all the work and a teammate jacking my kill. Shipment will be too crazy 3v3 its more of a 1v1 map but I dont think theyd do that. Rust is good. But i’d prefer to see Terminal and other maps that can be used in regular playlists than to expand Face off much further.

      to be fair infected has to have throwing knifes  or something. other wise it would just be totally unfair. like private match infected. that is not how it should be nor how they will make it. they will be changing the weapon and perk setup along with the reward setup but i think the infected will stay the same.

      final stand should stay the way it is this is not black ops and the person that killed them not hurt them should get the kill point. you might have shot a gun standing 90% and i come in and shot 1 bullet and get the kill, that’s no different then them on the ground but on the ground you have a better chance of getting killed and needing teammates help.

      terminal is kind of large for a face off map. face off are close quarter combat maps for 2v2 type matches. adding a larger map to the game type will NOT expand the game type but weaken the point of faceoff. faceoff maps are for face off only not spec ops survival not any other match type then faceoff.

        Absolutely not, final stand needs to be adjusted. Your example of 90% damage and them going to final stand and someone else finishing them I, the person who freaking put them in final stand, should get the kill. This is basic logic and has nothing to do with black ops. Final Stand is really second chance pro except it’s a death streak and not a perk. 
        Cause in black ops it’s the same thing except if you kill someone in second chance you get an assist. That’s the way it should be and final stand should be the same way because it’s the same exact thing. This list says nothing about weapon balancing except “hur hur these weapons needs more love”. The Model 1887 is powerful as it is like wiener said, I get killed literally 10 feet away by some guy shooting a model 1887 or even the SPAS they’re OP as hell. Even the Striker is pretty powerful. Shotguns imo needs some nerfing in some areas. I don’t know what to comment on the MP5 except it’s a weak 1 tier weapon at start up that might need a small buff but the PM-9 is very similar to the P90 except PM-9 has less accuracy for increased in fire rate between the two….hell even the MP7 is similar to those 2. But personally I like to see the akimbo’s be nerfed and maybe looking into MP7 and PP90M1 re-balancing cause ALOT of people use it now so perhaps it needs attention

          good comments  Thomas Murphy.
          I am all about whoever kills the guy gets the kill. in each and every case no matter what happens. Period. So to me that means if you do more damage but i shot the last 1 shot needed to kill even know you shot them 4times more then me the final shot that kills i think should be the final person that gets credit for the kills.

          in black ops NOW it gives credit for the kill to the person that puts the person in final stand. The bad side of that is in black ops its 2nd chance (perk not death streak) where they get a hand gun when they get into 2nd chance. No matter what they can not get back up. They get a 2nd chance to kill but if they just lay there and no one kills them they will bleed out. It is not like final stand where they can get back up and run around. it is a 2nd chance to kill the person that killed them. when black ops was released it was not this way they did change that in a patch. the bad part is say you down someone into 2nd chance you will NO matter what get the credit for the kill because he can not get up and putting someone into 2nd stand is equal to the kill. That is one bad side the other is worst and that is players will down a player into 2nd chance and run away from him knowing he can not get back up and knowing he will get the kill. The problem is that guy down can kill teammates. So you run away after you down him knowing you will get credit for it leaving him there to kill others. Now the good thing is that would not happen how it happen on black ops because if you run away on mw3 then the dude will just get up. so you NEED to stick around and make sure he dies even if you already get the credit for downing him. other problem with that  in mw3 is say i down the guy and i died well my teammate was right there but he is greedy and rater then getting a assist he waits till the guy gets up from final stand then downs him.

          every Shotgun is weaker in Modern Warfare 3 then MW2. Not 1 MW3 shotgun is better on MW3 then MW2. shotguns do have a larger range in real life then in the game. Gamers need to understand that shut guns can in fact shot that far in real life. AA12 in real life can do 100m and it is fully auto. many others can do much more range. I think they should make some of them more powerful in some ways. most games everyone is using the same weapons. LMG have just been made more powerful .. and they are used a lot more now.

          MP5 needs improved (ADS) center speed and that would change enough.
          akimbo’s where already weaken and many do not use them because if you know how to use one and your line of sights right 1 is better then 2.

          as long as things are balanced you can over power any weapon with a other weapon setup. in the case of MP7 use a MK46 rapid fire and grip. quick draw and extreme conditioning. Only way the MP7 guy can out do that setup is with rapid fire and steady aim or rapid steady and quick draw. MP7 upper hand is in ADS. If you LMG guy know hes coming a head of time you can pre ADS removing the delay.

          every weapon should have counter weapons that can take them out.

            I don’t know man, I’ve beasted with the MP5 after getting prestige 5 and had no issues ADS’s with it and people were getting mad at me during the match on PS3. I see no problems with that weapon and I had the suppressor on it too. And by no means i’m I a skillful FPS, my k/d on MW3 is literally 0.744 compared to my 0.89 on black ops so idk. 

            I find it hard to believe shotguns on MW3 are weaker. I’ll be picking up mw2 soon and seeing myself but right now on MW3 shotguns are overpowered. No way should I get 1 shotted 10+ feet away. I don’t care if it’s realistic cause CoD isn’t realistic, battlefield is realistic and even there shotguns do less damage when the target is farther away which further proves my point. Shotguns needs to be weakened when the target is father away, it makes logical sense. I’m not going to one shot kill you with a shotgun when you’re 2 blocks away from me in real life, but somehow on MW3 it happens. 
            Battlefield 3 actually had a issue with this on the Spas with frag slugs on the gun which allowed you to kill someone from being on top of a building. guess what? DICE adjusted this so now it’s no longer possible. Unfortunately MW3 has the weakest weapon balancing of all CoD’s this generation. Even Black Ops had a much better balancing and i don’t remember 1 shotting anyone 2 blocks away in that game. 

            As for your final stand point: I understand that you get back up after being put in FS as opposed to Second Chance Pro but i still feel I should get the kill for putting them in that position if they got killed. It’s unfair. Two ways to fix this, nerf final stand where you CAN’T get back up or give the kill to the one who put them there.

             good update Thomas Murphy, the MP5 is a good gun however there are a few things that limit it compared to other SMG. magazine size, recoil kick, fire rate. The weapon can not be used with rapid fire effectively for 2 reasons the kick and magazine size makes it unload super fast requiring a reload some times during battles. the MP5 is best with the silencer/suppressor. Problem is when you match mp5 vs some other setups mp5 does not have setups that can do much about it.

            Thomas the shot guns featured in mw2 are hands down way more powerful then mw3. faster rate of fire more damage more rang and more magazines.
            the only way to make a shot gun have more range damage or magazines is using the weapon add on that allows that. damage adds 40% damage. if you compare the shotguns with damage to mw2 ones they are close to the same however the range and magazines still more on mw2. The aa12 boost of 200meter range with a 100meters accurately firing rate. That is in real life. 1meter is 1 1⁄64 inch. So 10feet is about 9meters which is very doable in real life. In fact it can do 90more meters with out massive power loses. 100meters=328feet, the aa12 in real life can shot that far and be deadly. if things where like they are in real life the game would be massively unfair and not balanced. MW3 is way more balanced then mw2 hands down man. is it more real then mw2 ? who knows but it is much more fair for sure. BF3 had a few shotgun issues that they had to fix because they where problems. mw3 shotguns where adjusted a while back.
            well read over my comments on final stand. it has up sides and down sides, i think the down sides out way the up sides and i think it should stay as is.

            I guess we’re just going to agree to disagree with FS and Shotguns. 

            As for MP5: that comes down to skill not attachments or magazine. Like I said before: I beasted with the MP5 and i’m not a pro FPS player. MP5 doesn’t need a buff at all, if people want the MP5 to have more love then they use use the weapon. You’re not going to force someone to use the weapon if they prefer another weapon of choice like PP90M1 or MP7′s.

            If you got to see the makers data on all this might change your mind.
            It is not about forcing anyone to use any weapon it is about making the game more fair and balanced. adding more power to make it more equal to guns like mp7 is fair. not fair lowest ranks get worst weapons. due to prestige token stuff they should now think about having some of the better/best weapons EARLY to unlock. why? because if your a 4 and prestige a few times you might have a mp7 where as those new non prestige gamers would have only the mp5. making them more fair and balanced makes it more fair for new users and prestiging. that is really the main point and reason for this, not to make the mp5 over powered or massively used just more fair.

            and shields stats not carrying over fixed.. notice you might see more of them.

            the changes been in place for a few days and all in all good changes. the blast shield stronger for hardcore was needed long ago and happy those gamers got what they need to help make that more fair.

            you play over the weekend on xbox? did you have any issues with mp5 models or any thing they changed? i did not i like the changes.

            Sorry for the long wait, I don’t visit this site or this topic often. I don’t play on Xbox rather than PS3 so idk if the updates are latter due to these timed exclusivity BS but I haven’t really noticed a big change in anything. I don’t really use the blast shield much and MP5 hasn’t really felt any different too. but maybe i just play the same no matter what gun and it just feels that way to me. 

            I still stand by skill will be the deciding factor in how you play the MP. Weapon Balancing will still be needed of course but skill truly decides the experience and whether you’re a beast or meh at the game. i fall inbetween. Not a beast but not awful either. I have my moments and enjoy those moments.

             its ok, but we do miss you. While we might not see things 100% the same that is good and the people that read both sides get a better view point thanks to your views so keep em coming!

            The updates should for sure be in place as of now. You should really not notice a change it should be unnoticeable. a noticeable change would be a over powered change.

            exclusivity deals are ok, some games only come on 1 system some cars only get some tech some tv phones ect. exclusivity deals are very common in the world of business. Bring it up all the time is a good thing because it lets Sony know it does matter and you do care a lot. So maybe when the contracts when later this year sony might step up and try to offer a better deal.

            I personally think its not a matter of if your beast or crap but More on a scale of 100 points. 50points and your better then half but still half better then you. I think its a little more complex then just crap or beast think there’s a lot of skill levels. but I totally get what you mean and agree with you.

            Have fun win or lose because even if you lose if you are happy your still a winner. There are winners that are upset and raging be happy and have fun you win no matter the out come.

        No, Final Stand needs to be fixed. I did most of the work, plus sending someone into final stand takes the same amount of damage as killing them. Hence the “DEATH” streak. Also, if you actually read what I said, I said that Terminal and other maps like that should be made for REGULAR playlists, not Face Off. Face Off should not be getting more maps because it is a game mode for people looking for big competition and trying to do Shipment on 2v2 or 3v3 settings will be rediculous and not fun at all. When did I even say Face Off maps were for Spec Ops. Seems like all you do is come on this forum to reply to peoples comments and disagree with just about everything they say.

          you can kill a guy 90% and i can shot him 1 time and get the kill you get a assist. that happens all the time. every game. the person that did most damage/work does not always get the credit the person that kills the player gets the credit.  going into final stand does NOT take the same damage as killing them. it takes less.

          Your spelling and grammar was a little hard to understand “But i’d prefer to see Terminal and other maps that can be used in regular playlists than to expand Face off much further.” Check out the DLC content playlist right this min there is 2250 people on it.. look on Faceoff there is over 20,000 people playing it. The new faceoff mode is extremely popular more so then the other non faceoff MP maps. faceoff is bigger then infected drop zone and both free for all modes. So they really should add more maps for it. I think anyhow.

          Terminal was a great map however they made a mw3 map based on Terminal just like they made a maps based on highrise both highrise and Terminal will not return because of that.

       gamer play time is up more gamers are playing 6 months into the game then this time last year for black ops so gamers love the way the game was made proof of that is how long they play for 6 months after the release. having you playing more for changing the riot shield and such? i think not, adding a new game mode might get you playing more and these changes might get you to use a other weapon more but how do these changes effect the over all game play of the game not much at all.

      adding new maps loved from past games might make you play a little more but other then that i think you need to explain more because i do not get it.

    if you guys are going to charge money for old maps then i can careless what you do cause i wont be buying them. Also, if you guys are going to fix something, you should fix the servers because this IS the reason i dont play MW3 no more, every time i join a game its laggy even if we all have 4 bars
